Springtime Plastic Surgery
- Posted on: May 15 2019
To be honest, there’s no bad time to get that plastic surgery you’ve been dreaming of. In the summer, you’re expected to take time off for vacation, and it’s easier to heal at home in private. Autumn months provide cooler weather that is often more comfortable. Winter allows that same comfort, and more bulky sweaters to hide away wraps and bandages. And, wouldn’t you know, spring has some amazing qualities, too.
Some of the advantages of getting plastic surgery during the spring include:
Great Weather
Springtime is often still cool enough to let you bundle up in bigger baggy clothes. Plus, the 90’s are back in style, so you can take advantage of that looser fit. The weather can often be all over the place in spring, so the rain and snow can give you a perfect excuse to stay home and rest.
School Is In Session
It’s important to consider your other responsibilities before you have surgery. If your kids are still in school, you won’t need to ask for as much help while you recover. Evenings and weekends are much easier to handle than full days.
Don’t Put It Off
Staying inside in an air conditioned home is required to allow yourself the best chance to heal after an invasive procedure. You might consider recuperating poolside or in the backyard in the shade, but reconsider. The heat and sun can actually lead to prolonged swelling or even bleeding after your plastic surgery procedure. It’s better that you heal as quickly and safely as possible, so you’ll need to stay inside.
If you do decide to have surgery during the summer, listen to your surgeon and plan on staying inside consistently for at least a week, but possibly even longer. Body contouring procedures like liposuction will require abdominal binders to assist you in your recovery, which may not be your idea of fun on a hot day. Summertime is also not ideal for facial procedures, as exposure to sunlight can lead to scarring and delayed healing.
